1-1 Discussion: Learning to Analyze the Humanities
Hello,
I am twenty-eight years old, and I live in central Florida. I returned to college two years ago to
finish my B.S in Business Administration with a concentration in project management. In this
course, I hope to learn how to analyze the transdisciplinary concepts of humanities and apply the
knowledge and skills to my professional and academic life.
I am most comfortable with the focal point of visual arts in this module. It also the area that I
have the most experience with. I am interested in the literature within humanities because it helps
us to understand others through their languages, histories, and cultures. However, for the same
reason I find the literature so interesting, in my opinion, it can be more complex to digest and
interpret.
Is it enough to create simply for the act of creating, or should a work serve as a purposeful
commentary, be it political, social, personal, or derivative of other motivations?
I hope to gain a stronger understanding and wider perspective of humanities during the next eight
weeks and look forward to meeting everyone.
