Looking into the cultures and subcultures I identify with, I found that one is both culture and
humanity, as well as the other two fitting very well into it. My first culture is theatre, which is
also a humanity! On thing that connects directly to the performing arts for me is the shows
themselves. Taking a deeper look into what connects actors to the shows is the script. A large
book that the whole story is written in. The bible of a show if you will. Completely up to
interoperation by the director for the big picture and then even more so when it comes to the
individual actors with their characters.
Taking a shift but still staying in the realm of the performing arts, is the LGBTQAI+ community
that I am part of. While it seems like a large stereotype, one can find that many actors in theatre
are also about this culture as the performing arts welcome all people from all walks of life. One
object from this culture is the flags. Take the Bisexual flag for example; the colors represent who
the owner finds they are attracted to. Owning some sort of these flags connects the person
directly to the culture.
Fiannly, my third culture is Dungeons and Dragons. This is a tabletop role play game that I have
played regularly since I was in middle school. The main skills one can learn from this culture are
storytelling and acting, depending on what side of the table one is on. An object of this culture is
the dice. The game is played with 7 different dice. There is D-20, D-12, two D-10s, D-8, D-6,
and a D-4. These dice connect the layer directly to their character in order for them to play. This
then also allows the player to act out what is happening as their character. Which then brings us
into the world of the Performing Arts once again!
