I would use person-centered theory and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in my final
project case study. Because it allows for the development of a rapport between counselor and
client, person-centered theory might be useful for Katie. CBT is another hypothesis that Katie
can benefit from because it targets trauma, which may be preventing her from recognizing the
reasons behind her actions. By talking about these ideas with Katie, she might begin to
understand herself and why she does the things she does. This may eventually help her see that
she has a problem and make more informed decisions going forward.
Using person-centered theory as a springboard, we may get to know Katie and
demonstrate our appreciation for her perspective. With the support of a nurturing environment,
she can heal appropriately while discovering who she is and of what she is capable. Instead of
placing an emphasis on the therapist's expertise, theory, or methods, the person-centered
approach highlights the importance of the therapist's attitude toward the client. By working
together, we help our customers reach their full potential as individuals and realize their full
potential as contributors to society,4(G. Corey, 2023).
The second name for Cognitive Behavioral Theory is CBT. There are numerous strategies
under this theory that can be applied to help a client in addressing trauma that they have not
previously dealt with in a healthy manner or at all. "Our thoughts and actions influence our
emotions, and our emotions, thoughts, and bodily sensations are all interrelated with our
behavior" (Corey, 2023). This is in line with cognitive behavioral theory (CBT). By connecting
triggers and bad behaviors that may be harmful to the client, we may begin to teach them how to
disconnect from the habits that have developed. As a result, the client will be more able to
comprehend the importance of breaking the pattern of self-medication or whatever else they

were using to cope with the problem. Katie's self-discovery may benefit from her ability to
develop critical thinking skills.
