Child welfare, the corrections department, and probation. Then came
the readings and it didn’t click, I did not get that ah-ha moment, I am
embarrassed to admit. I looked it up. I found an article that described
human services that gave me the ah-ha moment. The article stated as
I quote “Human services, collectively, are an interdisciplinary set of
social assistance programs that include everything from healthcare
and counseling services to food and shelter offered through
government and nonprofit agencies and designed to contribute to the
welfare and happiness of communities by delivering a broad range of
help and support to individuals and families.” (Human Services edu.,
2021) This gave me the understanding that I needed, I hope anyway.
I am employed in the field of ABA for anyone that doesn’t know it is
Applied behavior analysis. I plan on staying in this field I needed my
degree to advance in this field.
