Health care shortages are a universal truth right now. Staffing,
supplies, clinical providers with patience none the less! While
providers working in the ER, ICU, nursing home staff, and Emergency
Medical Service providers, health Carew administrators also hav e a
unique set of challenges which includes managing those resources or
in todays case, lack thereof. With COVID, the shortages have
impacted healthcare facilities but the demands of federal oversight
never relaxed as to account for those shortfalls. In New Jersey, EMS
was privy to certain waivers that waved our administrative code in
order for us to "do more with less." This however recently ceased
which resulted in all the problems we had faced, returning. With such
mandates and codes that must be followed, one of the huge things
that were never accounted for: the lack of staff. Prior to COVID,
everyone had some type of staffing issue but it was made worse with
people leaving their respective professions and not returning.
Next, I would address the "elephant in the room" regarding federal
mandates. That would be the COVID-19 Vaccine. While I am pro-
