As health care reform moves forward, many Americans are not aware of the
large costs incurred by the government and I believe this is due to a primary
focus on themselves and how they are affected rather than the government
and country as a whole in addition to a lack of education on the subject and
an unwillingness to dive deep into the details of the current US healthcare
system and its costs.
“A staggering 46 million people — nearly one-fifth of all Americans —
cannot afford necessary healthcare services,$according to a new survey
Conducted by West Health and Gallup, the survey polled 3,753 U.S. adults
from Feb. 15-21, 2021” (Vaidya, 2021). In 2021 the average amount of
medical debt for those who have it was $2,424 which is roughly in line with
previous Census Bureau estimates. The average annual cost of health
insurance in the USA is$$7,470 for an individual and $21,342 for a family$as
