With the merge of the three hospitals it is important to implement cultural
diversity training for all employees. The degree of diversity in all three hospitals
are at different levels and without diversity training it might make it difficult for
staff to engage with other employees and even patients. The purpose of vultural
diversity training is to educate and raise awarness of the degree of language
barriers and importance of actions and body language when developing
relationships. Trainings should focus on...
• Cultural sensitivity training
• Anti-Sexism training
• Behavior based training
• Perspective taking role playing
o This could be conducted by a HIM professional and they could read
out certain scenarios and see hoe the staff would react. Then
providing feedback will help educate the employees.
• video simulations, role playing, goal setting, and perspective taking.
Incorporating these trainings will help create a sense of belonging in the work
place, improve communication skills, and create a strong work culture that
attracts talent and improves team dynamics. Cultural diversity can inspire
individuals to be creative and innovative. For an organization to have strong
values with cultural diversity it shows that they care about their employees. A
diverse group of employees will have enhanced decision making and result in
better patient outcomes.
