A new EHR and implementation of a new model of care can be
challenging for a facility or organization and its staff. EHR cannot fail
a facility's goals, but there can be less success for the new system if
every step to the plan is not followed. Communication between
management, stakeholders, and employees is the key.
b To change management is stressful when dealing with any
organization. I would first plan and make sure every team member is
familiar and comfortable with the new changes. I would also do the
same with stakeholders. I would include stakeholders in every step of
the process and show leadership skills to rid them of any doubt. I
would also make sure that everyone is able to track progress and
further assure that we are on the road to success. Always
communicate with stakeholders and develop documentation and
make everyone aware of the goals. Using the townhall was very
strategic and smart. It created a good environment and allowed
everyone to be comfortable and honest.
b Always allow questions to be asked and convince everyone as to
why change is needed and the benefits of the stakeholders buy in.
Allow employees to ask questions also because you are going to need
a strong team behind you. Schedule a demonstration of the new
system under new management to put stake holders and employees
mind at ease.
