Change management is, essentially, the process of dealing with
changes in an organization, such as policies, technology, or goals.
Change of any sort can be hard to reconcile with, so change
management can help alleviate some of these issues.
To rid the stakeholders of some hesitancy, I might try to make a
roadmap of the changes to make rather than winging it and
potentially causing problems down the line. The idea is to have a
guide to follow, not only to provide direction but also to show that
one knows what one is doing.
Another strategy to employ with hesitant stakeholders would be to
include them in every step, every decision that is made. This would
ideally make them feel included but also have a say in the direction
that the plan is going. Giving some control to the people that make
this possible -- the stakeholder -- might possibly make them less
hesitant to provide support. Furthermore, tracking progress made
and delivering it to the stakeholders could show that the change that
one wants to initiate is on the path to success.
Having the input and backing of the stakeholders is quite possibly
the most important aspect of any such decision; it is critical that they
know that their backing will not be for nothing.
