4-2 Final Project Milestone Two: EHR Selection
Alpha Hospital is a healthcare organization with 150 beds with 5 beds designated for
Intensive Care. This organization is looking to overhaul its current health records management
system. Alpha is currently using a hybrid system which is a combination of paper
documentation and electronic scheduling and is looking to switch to a more robust EHR that will
manage the emergency, hospital, ICU, and trauma center. The EHR will cover designated care
and auxiliary service areas within the hospital.

EHR Selection
The EHR I would recommend is MedInformatix EHR. I think that system would be
beneficial for Alpha to help them switch from paper records to electronic health records.
EHR Selection: CMS Regulation
” Meaningful Use was a regulation that was issued by the Centers for Medicare and
Medicaid, outlining an incentive program for eligible professionals, hospitals, and critical access
hospitals, participating in Medicare and Medicaid programs that adopt and successfully
demonstrate meaningful use of certified EHR technology” (Sayles & Kavanaugh-Burke, 2021).
