Located in the northwestern most area of the state of Washington at 47.7511° N, 120.7401° W is the city of Seattle, Washington. The city of Seattle is located
in the region of North America known as Pacific Hinge. The absolute location of Seattle, Washington is 47.6062° N, 122.3321° W as the city is located
approximately 100 miles south of the United States and Canadian border on an isthmus between Lake Washington to the east and an inlet of the Pacific Ocean,
Puget Sound, to the west. Seattle is surrounded by multiple national parks including Okanoga-Wenatchee National Forest and Mt. Rainier as well as Olympic
(History of Seattle, 2018).

Seattle and its surrounding areas have a temperate climate as it is classified as being in the Mediterranean zone. It has mild, dry summers with an average
temperature of 72° F and cool, wet winters staying above 38° F (Seattle Climate, Weather By Month, Average Temperature Washington, United States),( n.d.).
These comfortable temperatures as well as the mountain ranges, parks, and waterways offer tourists and nature lovers a great variety of things to do. In
addition to skiing, hiking, and camping, the city of Seattle also has numerous institutions dedicated to popular culture, aviation, and art (History of Seattle,
2018).
Seattle is an ideal location for many Department of Defense sectors, including the Department of Homeland security and naval bases as well as shipbuilding
yards due to its closeness to the Pacific Ocean. The biggest manufacturing complex in the world, the Boeing Everett factory, is located just outside the city
limits of Seattle, Washington. Over half of Boeing's commercial airliners orders came from outside of the United States as of 1978. By that point, Boeing has
surpassed all others as the nation's top exporter and source of foreign investment, and it will stay there for the foreseeable future (Kershner, J., 2015). Due to
