Author’s letter
As I have acquired specific research abilities and have been able to use them in this
project, it has been a more gratifying paper for me than the prior historical study on the Japanese
adaptation of Cymbeline. My interest in Japanese culture and my proficiency with the language
at the intermediate level both helped with the research for this thesis. An annotated bibliography
