ENG 123 lecture Notes Chapter 4
I contend that technology, social media, and the internet have both beneficial and bad effects on
the manager or division of human resources (HR). Particularly while maintaining business
standards and dealing with staff members who might not adhere to rules and regulations when
dealing with any of the three. Some businesses permit their HR teams to utilize social media
when hiring new employees to determine whether or not the candidate is a suitable match for the
role. When it comes to HR, the internet and technology, often known as "IT," may be seen as one
and the same thing. These two vital resources have the power to instantly create or destroy a
company's financial performance.
The first important idea in this reasoning is that social media may be utilized professionally for
things like advertising and showcasing goods like cars, furniture, and electronics. But also as a
personal website where you may express who you are, what interests you, and perhaps even find
love. People may connect, talk, and join clubs or organizations all across the world using SM
from the comfort of their own homes. Instead, HR may utilize social media to observe how
someone lives their private life and decide whether to approve or refuse them based on their
particular profile and extracurricular activities. The next important point is that IT can alter the
course of any business if the appropriate HR team and IT team are in place to manage and
control who has access to see, develop, or administer the quality output.
All professional workers that manage a company's money, staff, and various goods are the
audience I'm aiming to target. These personnel deal with all three of the key elements of a
successful firm, and they ideally only produce good outcomes. These three subjects nicely
complement one another to provide a fresh concept. When it comes to the internet, technology,
and social media, you sort of need one to utilize the other to keep the process moving. I want to
demonstrate how these three topics may be utilized for a variety of purposes in both professional
and personal contexts, but HR managers and departments need to be aware of the differences and
use the material appropriately. You have an HR representative who will be turned down despite
having a flawless résumé because to a private photo or comment on their personal Facebook.
While some businesses do not base hiring decisions on this sort of media, others do so using
social media and other information the internet may provide.
For interesting insights or thoughts on this subject, there are possible sources and websites that
may include, but are not limited to, possibilities like Opposing Viewpoints periodicals and
articles or from the SNHU Shapiro Library. But being aware of every credible source I consult
will give you a better understanding of how I approach this subject from a more in-depth
perspective.
