In order to meet the future demands in my profession, it is
important to keep up to date with trends in the industry. This
includes knowing how data is being used, what tools are being
used, and what challenges there are that can be solved using
analytics. It can also be useful to keep up to date generally with
advancements in the field of data analytics because there may
be some digital solutions being used in other industries that
have applicability in my industry. Another way I will prepare is
by continually refreshing my skills and learning new ones.
Currently I am proficient in SQL, MATLAB, and Python.
However, I can expand my skills in these areas by experimenting
with new toolboxes and taking on new projects.
The trends of data analytics and data visualization are
continuously evolving in recent times. The move towards
advanced data visualization is one of the trends that will have
an impact on my profession. The standard visualization
frameworks like the line, bar and pie charts limit the amount of
data that can be represented before the target audience (Bilal et
al., 2016). c A number of significant insights remain hidden and
untapped below the pie, bar, and line charts. The rise in the
complexity of businesses has increased the demand for advanced
or 3D data visualization. This trend will enable me to reveal a
lot of geospatial information, drive productivity, and increase my
overall performance. It will also help me in uncovering new
opportunities. c The use of advanced data visualization will
facilitate the representation of complex structures as well as
diverse data types to the target audience. It will also help me to
explore the “what if” questions and find appropriate answers to
them. However, in order to benefit from the trend, I need to
enhance my knowledge and skills to effectively use advanced
data visualization tools.
Testing benchmark is another popular data analytics trend that is
likely to have a significant impact on my profession. There is no
single benchmark that is suitable for different types of workload
cases. This increases the demand for unique testing benchmarks.
The development of benchmark testing for a specific application
will benefit my profession. It will enable me to select the right
data benchmarks on the basis of the particular type of
architecture or systems and the workload (Kolajo et al., 2017).
Engineering decision intelligence is another trend that will impact
my profession. It changes the traditional way of how decisions
are made. It will help to make better decisions in my profession
and thereby ensure more positive outcomes (Top Trends in Data

goals, increase performance, and ensure greater success.
