I have always been highly passionate about the Data Science
domain. When I took the plunge into the academic discipline, I
wanted to pursue my Masters’ degree so that I could upgrade
my technical skills and knowledge. For a very long time, I have
been interested in getting a comprehensive insight into technical
elements such as data, scientific methodologies, processes, and
machine learning algorithms (Van, 2016). However, after the
Covid 19 pandemic struck, I came to realize the high
attractiveness of the Data Science discipline and how it has the
potential to bring about change in diverse industries and sectors
where technology has been adopted. Since then, I have realized
that I would be facing tough competition in the attractive work
setting in future. So, to meet the rising demands of my
profession in the Data Science domain, I would have to work on
a diverse range of skills such as critical thinking ability, effective
communication skills, proactive problem-solving ability, intellectual
drive and technical know-how, and business sense.
In order to meet the future demands in the future profession, I
would have to build solid critical thinking ability. In the Data
Science arena, it would enable me to objectively evaluate
questions, hypotheses as well as the outcome.
It would also empower me to identify the resources that are
highly critical for solving complex issues. Developing effective
communication skills would also play a cardinal role and help me
to meet the future demand of my profession. It would basically
help me to engage with others and discuss useful data-driven
insights. In addition to this, I would also be able to communicate
important and rich information in a proper manner that would
highlight the value of the action (Van, 2016). In the competitive
professional setting of Data Science, I would rely on my
proactive problem-solving ability to look at different problems
from diverse angles. It would create an opportunity for me to
approach diverse problems and issues by identifying existing
resources and assumptions. Developing intellectual and technical
know-how would be a necessity for me for meeting the diverse
future needs of the profession. The intellectual drive would help
me to search for optimum answers to address problems.
Similarly, technical know-how would help me to make proper
utilization of technology-based elements to make sense of data
and conduct a thorough analysis. c In the rapidly evolving
business landscape, I would have to work on expanding my
business sense so that I could identify organizational
complexities and convert data into actionable results that client
businesses could work upon.
