COM 126 Module 3 Graphs and Visuals Activity
This graph was chosen since it represents the current quantity of print consumed. In the days of
legacy media, print was the primary or only platform on which newspapers were read. It
demonstrates the many platforms that are currently available as the times change. My audience
will be able to see how the information/digital era has changed how various platforms are used.
By contrasting modern and historic media, this graphic relates to my theme. This is relevant to
my research since the image depicts how film was created using the kinetograph. This was
William Dickson's early motion picture system, which captured 40 photos each second (Baran,
2021). When the images are put in the right order, the illusion of motion is created. My audience
will comprehend how films were made in the historical era. This image is from the movie Easy
Rider (1969). The 1960s were politically, socially, and culturally difficult and significant years.
This film is relevant to my thesis since it represents what was going on at the time. Two Harley
riders go across the country in quest of spiritual truth in this video. Throughout their travels, they
encounter racism and animosity from small-town residents. This corresponds to the Civil Rights
Movement that was going on at the time. My audience will be able to comprehend the impact of
culture on movies.
These are the remake's four visuals. A star is born (from left to right: 1937, 1954, 1976, and
2018). (Baran, 2021). This pertains to my theme since you can trace the progression of
production (quality) from the heritage to the modern era from each photograph. You can also see
how each remake was tailored to its respective era. My audience will be able to view the
progress graphically and make comparisons between then and today. The Panavision camera,
notably the Panavision Silent Reflux, was used to film movies in the 1960s (Wikipedia, 2021). It
is much larger and heavier than what is currently utilized to film. This can help my project
because I'm presenting the process of filmmaking in the legacy era, which is fascinating. Such
adjustments in my lecture will have to be visible to my listener as well.
