Miss Representation discusses the influence of the media on the globe, with a focus on women's

roles and how they are depicted in the media. The short video discusses how programs like the

daily news and bawdy reality television shows represent and frequently insult women in their

daily lives. Sometimes we are so used to seeing it that we don't even notice it until it is brought

out in a film like this. The video discusses how the media presents women in terms of gender,

power, and leadership. It demonstrates how "old school" gender stereotypes are still prevalent

and promoted. Women in many TV series, such as The Nanny and Two and a Half Men, have

distinct tasks and functions and rarely deviate from them. There isn't much room for them to

develop or be themselves. Even now, it is clear in the media that women are meant to have

Clinton, on the other hand, was frequently chastised because her responses weren't always

faultless and she didn't always have the proper answer. She was evaluated based on her studies

and experience, whilst Palin was evaluated based on her appearance. Personally, I had no idea

that women were permitted to be in business for a long time, and I assumed that one day I would

have to be someone's secretary instead of the CEO. Every film or television episode I saw

demonstrated that women were not permitted to be powerful, strong, or independent. They had to

serve at the command of a man and be at their beck and call. This also demonstrates how

harmful this may be to small children. I was under the assumption that I would never go to

college, that I would never be a leader, and that I would never be able to run a business. This

frequently defeated me.
