Children and adults. I found some facts for the state of Georgia.
Participation in regular physical activity is critical to keeping yourself
in good health and reduce the risk of developing or dying from heart
disease, diabetes, colon cancer, and high blood pressure. Less than
half of Georgia’s adults get 150 minutes a week of moderate intensity
aerobic activity and in recent surveys, only half of Georgia’s high
school students reported being physically active for at least 60
minutes a day. A prevention strategy being used to support healthy
behavior in Georgia is to add more physical activity in your every day
day life. Some of these physical activities could be going for walks,
going for bike rides, running, playing sports or going for hikes that
have inclines. Simply educating children and adults on proper
nutrition and healthy food choices can go a long way into helping
them lose weight and beat obesity. Eating healthier and having
enough physical activity will reduce risks for heart disease, stroke,
high blood pressure, forms of cancer, heart attack, etc.
