a After completing my first run through the simulation, my company
was not very successful. I made decisions that did not have what was
best for the company in mind. I listened to the family and took their
personal feelings before what was necessary to expand the business.
For example, hiring professionals outside of the family for the board
was a decision I didn't make until my second run through, and it
attributed towards the success of the company. Also, going public
was another decision that I failed in making on my first try, again, due
to the family influence. By my third run, my company had become
successful globally! Utilizing other business professionals and their
skills played a major role in the transition of the company's growth.
Also, branching into other products outside of the honey products
generated major revenue and diversified the company. This was a
good way to get the company to a global scale, which is where I
successfully ended on the third run through! As I gained the
knowledge throughout this course, I was able to apply it to the
simulation which was fun and exciting!
