The steps that will be taken to promote CSR is through using the Nike initiatives
for reducing waste and using the research of chemistry in order to reduce if not
eliminate hazardous chemicals from entering the environment. The way to do this
is by using raw materials that have been researched and proven that the
chemicals do not harm the environment when creating the formal wear line. In
terms of waste we will participate in the refurbishment program, reduce the
impact of packaging, donation program, “continue to use the materials that are
lighter weight and have inherently higher yields and generate less waste, apply lean six
sigma methods, and “continue Working on breakthrough innovations to recycle some of
the biggest drivers of our non-recycled manufacturing scrap materials, including leather,
synthetic leather, blended textiles and other mixed materials (nike.com).”
The way I plan to attract, develop, engage, and reward my project team is through the
use of bonus for meeting goals, create a work environment that people want to be a
part of, be a hands-on manager that is there to answer questions and help come up with
solutions to problems, but also letting the team members have their own space without
any micromanagement. Nike is a very notable company and generally pay pretty well
already, as well as has great benefits so I feel that with all these things and creating a
great work environment should be enough to attract anyone. In terms of developing
people, we have the resource to send people to college or trade schools, as well as offer
on the job training.
