Target has a longstanding commitment to diversity, equity, and
inclusion (DEI). They have a clear initiative: “ Our DE&I strategy
focuses on four areas: creating an inclusive guest experience, having
an inclusive work environment, ensuring we have a diverse
workforce, and leveraging our influence to drive positive impact on
society” (Target, 2022). One action discussed in the Forbes article is
the formation of Employee Research Groups. These groups help
create equitable opportunities for employees from all backgrounds
and bring employees together (Bastain, 2019). All employees need to
support DEI initiatives to succeed, and once that is established,
everyone will benefit.
Target has been committed to CSR for a long time. Its strategy, called
Target Forward, states how it envisions co-creating an equitable and
regenerative future with its guests, partners, and community (Target,
2022). The first report was published in 1969, and since 2010, Target
has submitted a comprehensive CSR report on its website. As a result,
Target’s image in the market for its CSR is highly regarded. In fact, on
their website, they have listed many achievements: Target’s ranking is
19 among Fortune’s World’s Most Admired Companies of 2022.
My service for Target aligns with its CSR program through its pledge
to put people at the center of its efforts and serving communities. As
a result, this will leverage Target’s competitiveness. Supplying the
community with a service that allows guests to shop without
interruption from their children is beneficial, and unlike anything
other competitors offer.
