Apple INC is built on the foundation of bringing people together and
connecting communities. One of the quotes found on their website
was "We’re continuing to build a culture where everybody belongs.
That’s what sparks our innovation. And our progress toward a more
inclusive workforce and a better world." They use the idea of
connecting people to drive their products and how they deliver their
services to their customers. In order for me to ensure DEI is part of
the project team that is being assembled, I would start by creating a
team with diverse team members. It's important that the product is
inclusive for all customers so that people from all walks of life can use
the product. The product will be constructed and designed with the
needs of all customers and people in mind so that it meets the need of
current customers and others so that the product can bring in new
customers. The Apple company became very CSR focus in 2011 when
Tom Cook became the CEO. Cook then appointed a Lisa Jackson as
Vice President of Environmental Initiatives. The company's CEO sits
with other CEOS to advance sustainability in China. Tom Cook leads
with sustainability for the Apple company by partnering with
Bluestone Natural Farms to transform compostable materials
generated onsite into rich organic material for use on the farm. Apple
has other partnerships like this to help advance sustainability across
the United states. My product aligns with the Apple CSR program
because it's a product focused on creating a phone that doesn't need
electricity to function. the product is a phone that uses a solar panel
to collect power to make the phone function. By using solar panels
the phone becomes more eco-friendly and environmentally
conscious.
