I believe some of the regulations in the pharmaceutical industries
may have started with the right intent but went to far. There are
several medications that require a prescription but should be
available for purchase by a pharmacist without a prescription. For
example my daughter hands use to dry out really bad in the winter
months and I took her to a dermatologist and they said for her to use
lotion which didn't help. A long time friend had the same condition
gave me diprosone which is not marketed in the USA but solved the
problem. In another example my father was stuck in the US during
covid shut down of 2020 and he nearly ran out of Glipiride a
medication for Diabetes. He would have had to pay hundreds to
thousands of dollars for a doctor to prescribe him the medication
because he did not have a primary care physician in the US (he
doesn't live here) and purchase the medication at almost 10 times
the price. In neither of those instances would those medications
serve another purpose other than their intended use. On the other
hand Perdue Pharma managed to become the biggest drug dealing
organization in America. They intentionally targeted depressed areas
and physicians that where prescribing medication to pad their
pockets according to Keefe. In these three scenarios three scenarios
the public is not who is important to regulators. Luckily I have friends
in border town and was able to get the medication I needed but it
shouldn't be that way. As for the Sacklers in the third scenario, their
lawyers will keep them dealing drugs since they have the right
connections.
Thanks everyone that provided feedback to my stories. If you want
to read about one of the most powerful families in America I
recommend the book below because the things money can buy are
unbelievable. The book is 18 hours long and the story is just as
addicting as the oxy they sell.
