The production cycle is a recurring set of business activities and related information
processing operations associated with the manufacture products. (Romney). This article
about the production cycle defines the cycle as “the raw materials and end with the finish
product.” In short, this cycle describes the time a product goes from raw material, in
process, to completion.

Production cycle is divided into two elements: processing phases and pausing
phases. This article also addresses what documents, procedures and methods are needed
during planning and control. Automation and technologies are an important factor in
shortening the production cycle and cycle time.
