John the Baptist preaches the message of REPENTANCE
Jesus preached the same repentance after receiving the holy spirit and being spoken over by God
after baptism.
His presence and closeness is the kingdom of heaven coming near. Relationship with Him
equates to being part of the Kingdom.
Christ preached on the Kingdom of heaven (Value, purpose and availability through Christ)
Pricelessness of being part of the kingdom (Matthew 13:44).

The five leading characteristics of adolescence are biological growth and development, an
undefined status, increased decision making, increased pressure and the search for self.

b) Music – Historically aimed at youth.
c) More Isolated: Two parent wprk, Broken homes-abandonment (garage code kids)
growing fast.
These pressure the pre-adolescent into the adolescent world prematurely.
D. Why age 25?
1. Cultural reason:
A) Prolonged education:
40’s = finish high school and get married.
50’s = finish high school, consider college.
Late 50’s = go to college as result of Sputnik.
60’s = finish college, get married & consider grad sch.
70’s = finish college, consider marriage & grad school.
80’s = finish college, go to grad school, consider post grad sch. & consider marriage.
00’s = finish college, go to grad school, get post-grad degree & still Consider marriage.

a) Postponing adulthood. Do not desire responsibilities of adults. Enjoy
adolescent life.

III. Why have ministry to adolescents?
a. Because of their response to the gospel.
i. More than “75% of those who get saved do so before the age of 21”.

savior do so before reaching the age of 13
2. Two out of three born again Christians (64%) accept Jesus Christ
