One of the radical statements concerning the history of Jesus Christ that I came across that had
been published within the last 10 years, was an article I had found on the Atlantic Magazine web
page. The article title "The Unbelievable Tale of Jesus' Wife" give huge clues of its contents.
This article was written in 2016 by a woman named Ariel Sabar, and was about the claims of a
Harvard Historian, saying that Jesus had a wife. Laren L. King a Historian from Harvard claimed that
she had gained possession of a papyrus fragment that was around 1300 years ago. On the fragment
were the alleged writings that had Jesus introducing His wife, who possibly could have been Mary
Magdalene. The writing on the fragment didn't give too many details besides the context that was
written describing Jesus speaking to His disciples and questioning them about if women like
Mary Magdalene can become a disciple because of the fact that mothers and wives during the time
of Jesus could become His disciples. The reason I find this a radical statement is because growing up
in a Christian household and being involved in church since I was a child, I was always taught and
read in the Bible that Jesus was not married. Historically it is believed
