Evolutionary Ethics and God
Evolutionary ethics attempts to fill in the plot holes between the natural sciences,
philosophy, and the scripture. The idea that genetic, natural, and biological
pathways produces human emotion is an absurd conception. [1] Philosophy and
science cannot, with absolute certainty, produce a concreate answer to why
human beings have the ability to think and are self-aware of their presence in the
universe. Humanity does not act upon animalistic instinct. People have the ability
to rationalize, and control primal behaviors. The God of the Bible does not get
enough credit for the ethics displayed in humanity, which is not a reflection of the
moral code and laws developed by humanity; rather, it is an intrinsic value that is
coded into people by the Creator. [2] Science cannot explain the development of
conscience, behavior, and free will thought. Evolutionary ethics cannot explain,
with any certainty, how physical matter developed into biology matter which in
turned developed into conscience thoughts and emotions. [3] Science use
observation and theory to explain things. No one was alive “millions and billions”
of years ago to record the events the universe as it came into existence. However,
there is a book called the Bible that does provide a detailed explanation of how
the universe came into existence, and more importantly, how and why humanity
came into existence.
The existence of a good God changes everything and Christ-followers stand on
the word of God and that it is true and need not have to fill in the “holes” in how
the world came into creation. God has written that people are to trust in the Lord
with all of our hearts and do not lean on your own understanding Prov. 3:5-6.[4]
The Biblical account of creation as written in the Bible is in line with the basic
concepts of the Big Bang Theory, which is creation was caused by a giant
explosion from nothing and the properties of time, space and matter all came into
existence at once. Evolutionists believe in the Big Bang as the start of the
universe. e However, to except this theory as fact you will have to also adopt
theories to explain how nothing produces nothing, and how that nothing became
organic, and from the organic matter came rational, thinking, emotional beings.
