McQuilkin and Copan touch on a number of reasons to reject Evolutionary
Ethics, however the most compelling reason is the lack of justification or
explanation of how a Godless universe can account for the existence of
morality in daily life (McQuilkin & Copan, 2014, 182)./ Evolutionary
ethicists believe the existence of duties have no intrinsic basis in real
moral obligation behind our beliefs ( McQuilkin & Copan, 2014, 180). The
other belief that is espoused by evolutionist is that morality is simply a
corporate illusion to arouse cooperation ( McQuilkin & Copan, 2014, 180)./
As indicated the influence of biological evolution in morality in no way
precludes God from being the source of morality (McQuilkin & Copan,
2014, 180). /The crust of evolutionary ethicists fundamental belief is the
nothingness of man evolving from the existence of nothing, but scripture
establishes that “God created man in his image; in the image of God, He
created him; male and female” (Genesis 1:27 NKJV)./ In this vain, if God is
all good, and man was created in his image then it would go to reason
that morality as it exist in man is derived from the standards that exist in
a good God./ /
The divine stature of man mirrors a likeness to God for the purpose of
establishing a moral or immoral perspective on life choices./ The
evolutionist theory perpetuating the inherent nature of man is established
through evolution as opposed to being supplanted by God as established
in Christianity, it fails to provide an irrefutable explanation how
valuelessness can produce something of intrinsic value such as morality
or the knowledge of good and bad or right and wrong.
The word of God tells believers “Everyone will/deceive his neighbor and
will not speak the truth; They have taught their tongue to speak lies;/They
weary themselves to commit iniquity.
Your dwelling place/is/in the midst of deceit; Through deceit they refuse to
know Me, says the Lord” (Jeremiah 9:5, NKJV). Finally, Evolutionary Ethics
are incompatible with belief in God in relation to various aspect of
scripture./ Evolutionary ethics attempts to separate the created from the
creator, they perpetuate the belief that morality has no foundation in God,
but scriptures tells the believer “Do not be deceived: “Bad company
corrupts good morals” (1 Cor 15:33, NASB)./ Scripture also reminds the
believer “Do not/be conformed to/this/world, but be transformed by
the/renewing of your mind, so that you may/prove what the will of God is,
that which is good and/acceptable and perfect” (Romans12:2, NASB).
