As I am reading each post and reply this week I am impressed with your work.
Many of you have given careful consideration to the issues. Most everyone
agrees that there should be theological education for ministers but we may differ
some on what that means. I want to leave you with a thought from my seminary
days. I had a professor who said that devotional Bible study and Academic Bible
study were the same for him. I have thought about that over the years and I
guess it has influenced me some. I do try to weave theological knowledge into
my preaching because I think a person should leave a worship service knowing
more about the Bible than when they arrived at the service. That is for you to
think about over the years of ministry you face.
