Project Introduction:
Evil and suffering is all around us and has been this way for centuries. The question
circling around this evil and suffering is, where is God? and why hasn’t He done something
about this evil and suffering that we see and experience. This is the problem with evil, is how
2
can this all-powerful, omnipresent, omnibenevolent God exist among all this evil and suffering
and not do anything about. Many argue that God does not exist because of evil that is rampant
in the earth and because of His goodness, it should cause Him to do something about this
problem. Can we put this problem with evil all on God or does human freedom has anything to
with it? And because there is evil that is among us, does this constitute one to say that God
does not exist. Despite the existence of evil in the world, does human freedom, limitations of
human comprehension and divine providence make the philosophical case for the existence of
God with the implication that evil actually has a role within divine providence.
