THEOLOGICALI REFLECTIONI JOURNALI ASSIGNMENTI INSTRUCTIONS
OVERVIEW
You will keep a weekly journal reflecting on the importance and significance of the study of the
Christian doctrine of God. The journal will reflect on personal, practical, and ministry
applications of what you are learning. You will post a journal entry each week for a total of eight
entries.
INSTRUCTIONS
• The first week journal assignment is a duplication of the discussion on goals. This is
intentional.
• As for length, 2 paragraphs would be too little, and 3 – 4 pages too much. So somewhere
in the 1 1/2 to 2-page length would seem appropriate. [This is the area where most
students lose the most points. . .writing 4-5 sentences that comprise one full paragraph
will not earn full points]. The final submission will therefore be a 12-16-page (double
spaced) Word document.
• It is supposed to represent your biblical and theological reflections over a week of reading
and study. Citations/footnotes are not needed. The journal is due each week but will not be
graded until the end of the course. The journal is the one assignment in the course where
1st person (I/me) is allowed/expected since it is a personal reflection.
• Create a Word document (including a title page and page numbers) with heading [ALL
CAPS/CENTERED/BOLD] listed below as the heading for each new entry. Those serve
as dividers for the 8 entries to be graded.
• Those headings for the eight weeks are as follows:
o Goals
o Existence of God
o Contemporary Theology
o Non-Moral Attributes
o Moral Attributes
o Trinity
o Creator
o Providence (Final Submission)
• Each assignment will appear during the course weekly, as follows:
o Module 1: Week 1 Goals
o Module 2: Week 2 Existence of God
o Module 3: Week 3 Contemporary Theology
o Module 4: Week 4 Non-Moral Attributes
o Module 5: Week 5 Moral Attributes
o Module 6: Week 6 Trinity
o Module 7: Week 7 Creator
o Module 8: Week 8 Providence (Final Submission)
• The headings align with the subject studied each week. So, they serve as the springboard
of the ‘key idea’ upon which the journal entry is to be based. What was learned? What was
new? Impactful? What did you disagree with? [These questions are illustrative, and not
exhaustive. They are not meant as a ‘list’ to answer each week].

submitted during Module 8: Week 8.
• Use spelling/grammar check and ensure paper includes title page and page numbers.
