THEO-525

Thesis Statement It is the determination to bestow a biblical breakdown of what is the trinity:
The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. What the difference between the three, What is the
purpose of the three, and how do all three become one.
Intro
The thought of God in the three persons are a topic that most other religions see as the reason
why Christianity cannot be true. The very thought of God being three. God sharing supreme with
two other is unheard of. Just the thought of God being more than one makes no sense at all.
"Trinity" is just one; that gives definition to itself.
When you think of all three, they are all fully God. They share all the power and authority
together. If we had to compare it to something that we can understand we can apply it to the
human body, the energy of light helps us to visual how it works, heat resides in the body so it can
function, and the air around helps the body to breathe. All three combined help our bodies to
function. Without one we can’t function properly.
Inappropriate understandings of the Trinity. There are three: Modalism, Arianis, and
Tritheism.
Modalism definition out of the dictionary is the*doctrine*that the persons of the Trinity represent only
three modes or aspects of the divine*revelation, not distinct and*coexisting*persons in the divine nature.i
Arianism definition out of dictionary is an influential*heresy*denying*the*divinity*of Christ, originating
with the Alexandrian priest Arius (*c.*250–*c.*336). Arianism maintained that the Son of God was created
by the Father and was therefore neither*coeternal*with the Father, nor*consubstantial.ii
Tritheism definition is the*doctrine*of or belief in the three persons of the Trinity as three
distinct gods.iii
The basic aspects of the three Modalism, Arianism, and Tritheism they all go against it be one
god with three heads the father, the son and the holy spirit. Three as one with the same power.
The persons of the trinity the father, the son, and the holy spirit.
The father As our Father, he receives us and forgives us and rejoices over us when in
repentance we come home to him (Luke 15:11–32
).*iv
The son the bible say, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever
believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)v The ESV says, “And we
know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him
who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal
life. (1John 5:20)vi
The Holy Spirit as God, the bible says When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into
all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but viihatever he hears he will speak, and
he will declare to you the things that are to come. (John 16:13)
The three consist of the same supremacy. There are three distinct persons or subsistence’s
within the God head, consist of the same supremacy, this may not be easy to articulate it is the
truth.viii
The three divine persons within the Trinity share equal supreme and authority. It's essential to
clarify that when we use the term "person" in the context of the Trinity, it doesn't refer to a
human being as a unique individual. This theological usage allows for the concept of a person
separate from a physical body. The Bible itself acknowledges this distinction, as even after death
and the body rests in the grave, an individual is still referred to as a person. Therefore, when we
speak of "persons" within the Trinity, we are describing entities with knowledge, emotions, and
will. In essence, there are three distinct persons or subsistences within God, each possessing
these attributes, even though comprehending this concept can be challenging for the human
mind.8
The concept of the three is undeniably intricate for the human most to comprehend. As it stands
as one of the principle aspects of the Bible. We must recognize that God's nature surpasses
human comprehension, and we cannot presume to fully understand his divine plan.
