Bible Essay
Out of the power of the three person God came the everything that is or will be. Through
the Bible God is shown to be a being of great power and unique existence. Creation is the
starting point of human history that has been debated for years since it begins with a time no
human existed, and once humans did exist, they messed up the world that had been made good
and sinless. This major event of humanity where the first sin is committed, and the world falls
into sin is known as the Fall. Thankfully, He is merciful enough and loves us enough to have sent
is only son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins and redeem us so that we may return to Him and that
we would be able to be saved from the rightful punishment of death for our sins. Now we are
freed through Jesus and can join the Lord in heaven. He has set all this so that we may return to
the good order He had made in the beginning.
Everyone wants to know where they have come from or how things began, and the Bible
gives an answer for this. The Holy Bible is a collection of stories, histories, and poems all
following and pointing to the Trinity, which is the being known as God made up of the Father,
the Son, and the Holy Spirit. “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. (Genesis
1:1)” This is how the Scripture in the Bible begins. It immediately shows the Trinity at work. We
know this time period as the Creation where everything sprang from nothing. Since the Trinity is
made up of three distinct personalities, some people question who made the universe. Well, the
answer is they all played their own distinctive part in forming reality as we know it today
(Erickson & Hustad p.136). God as a whole is something, we as humans cannot fully understand
now. The functions of the Trinity are mentioned throughout the Bible but are likely still not
completely explained. Yet, through the dust of the newly made earth the Lord formed humans
and gave us life. Miraculously, the creator of everything made us look like Him and even gave us
the authority to rule over everything else on earth. This time was the best as it was in the
beginning where everything created was good and sinless. Regrettably, time continued, and one
mistake cost the whole world its good times.
Adam and Eve eating the forbidden fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil let
lose sin into the world thus causing the Fall. The first humans made by God had one rule and
they broke it. What a mess! Even as a good creation Adam and Eve were imperfect reflections of
God and because of their disobedience they were cast out of the garden of Eden. The garden
where everything was peaceful and safer. Mistakes were made, yet God still loved. As a being
out of time He sees all of us now, before, and after all of time. Even though Adam and Eve had
failed the one request of them, the Father had already known that He would have to sacrifice
something precious for us to be freed from the burden we had just ensnared ourselves in. The
Lord began by sending word ahead of the Son’s future mission to save us all. Laws were put into
place to mentality and physically prepare humanity for the plan that God had in mind.
That plan was Redemption. The Son Jesus Christ would give up His life for ours and His
blood, being pure, would be the price paid so that we would be able to choose God. Jesus would
then be resurrected and return to heaven to begin preparing a place for all of the people who
accept the Trinity. After we accept the Lord into our hearts the Holy Spirit will then dwell in us
to help guide us on the path to be more like Jesus. Being redeemed does not mean we are
suddenly perfect and do not sin anymore. This is why the Bible continues on past the beginning
and Jesus’ arrival to the teaching part where we as new children in Christ can learn what to do
after accepting God. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed
away; behold, the new has come. (2 Corinthians 5:17)” Redemption is like getting a free ticket
for a train to take you to a whole new world and even though you are accepted on the train with
normal clothes you know that the place you are going is very special, so you dress up and
prepare yourself nicely. Though is also time to tell your friends and spread the word about the
train and that it will leave any minute.
The Word of God tells us that Jesus will come again to earth to collect all His people, the
ones who got a free ticket. He wants us all on the train because He loves us all. This is where
Restoration comes in. “The Bible affirms the idea of human responsibility (most notably in the
fact that apart from Christ we are condemned to separation from God), but the Bible also affirms
God's work within our lives. (Etzel & Small p.67)” In a believer of Jesus lives the Holy Spirit
who works within us to mold us into His children. Through the clouds Christ Jesus will deceased
and call home all His children someday and those who go with Him will finally have rest and
live forever in the new world God is making for them. There will be peace and everlasting joy as
the Lord’s children praise and glorify His name forever.
As children of a patient and just God, we have been given an opportunity to return home,
a world intended for us from the beginning. Our current problems may be the result of past
mistakes, but they will come to an end some day in which we must have chosen a side by then.
Populated all around the earth the Bible grows more and more accessible to people and
Christians, followers of Jesus, continue to grow and spread the Gospel, the Good News detailed
in the Bible about Jesus’ sacrifice.
