God’s involvement in His creation

THEO 201: Biblical Worldview Essay

In order to understand God’s creation, a person must have a belief in the word of God,
which is considered the Bible. God’s involvement in His creations should be a foundational
belief for all Christians. In this essay, one will be able to understand the theology of creation and
the involvement of God is His creation, as well as how this will have an impact on my career as a
nursing student.
For example, in the very first chapter of Genesis, it says this, “In the beginning God
created the heavens and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1, NIV) “For in him all things were created: things
in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or
authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in
him all things hold together.” (Colossians 1:16-17, NIV). This verse is a great example because it
shows how God pleasures His creation and He wants it all to be fruitful just like He created us.
Also, “May the glory of the LORD continue forever! The LORD takes pleasure in all he has
Tatoute 2
made!” (Psalm 104:31, NLV). This proves to us that God will continue to take pleasure in His
creation, and therefore; we should treat His creation like God wants because we are made in His
image. “So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male
and female he created them.” This verse can relate back to chapter three of the book, “Theology
for the Church” where we have seen the word inspiration, which means God-breathed. In the
image of God, we were created, so God created us in order to do follow Him, and our goal is to
always live like Him, serve like Him, and be like Him. From Genesis 1 throughout the whole
Bible, it shows how God has been involved in His creation, and He will always be the main
subject when we talk about the word creation.
To continue, we can see that God has always been involved in His creation by building a
long-term relationship with them. In the Old Testament, God has built relationships with Moses,
Abraham, and with many more others. He has helped them throughout the journey, walked with
them. (Genesis 3:8, 12:1, 26:5,), (Exodus 11, 19, 33). Not only did God had a good relationship
with His creation, He has also spoken to some face to face, because Exodus 33 says this, “The
LORD would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend. Then Moses would return to
the camp, but his young aide Joshua son of Nun did not leave the tent.” (Exodus 33:11, NIV).
Another great example is when God revealed himself to Amos. “For the LORD is the one who
shaped the mountains, stirs up the winds, and reveals his thoughts to mankind. He turns the light
of dawn into darkness and treads on the heights of the earth. The LORD God of Heaven's Armies
is his name!” God revealed his thoughts to mankind, which relates back to our previous
discussion board in class, where some people do not believe that the Bible is the written word of
God only because men wrote it. One of my favorite verses from the Bible is this, “For I know the
plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to
give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11, NIV). We have seen so far that God created us,
Tatoute 3
and He established a relationship with us, then he reassures our hope by saying that He has plans
for us, in which I will be able to become a nurse because that is God’s plan for me.
Furthermore, I have been studying at Liberty University to become a nurse. I am
currently in my second year, therefore; that is my vocation and path that the Lord has planned for
me. With my devotion, the belief in creation and God’s involvement is very important in order
for me to succeed in my career. Not all nurses are Christians, but being a Christian who has a
great foundation of what the word says, and also who knows the truth can have a greater impact
than those who are non-believers. Nurses are the hands and feet of Jesus Christ. When God came
into the world he demonstrated humility with care, patients, and love. My devotion will require
me to have the same humility that God has demonstrated. In the medical field, caring and loving
will be the main responsibilities of my job. One example from the Bible is this, “The purpose of
my instruction is that all believers would be filled with love that comes from a pure heart, a clear
conscience, and genuine faith.” (1 Timothy 1:5, NIV). With this love, a nurse will be able to help
those who are in need, and love the people as Christ loved them. “"For God loved the world so
much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but
have eternal life.” (John 3:16, NIV). A nurse should be compassionate, caring, loving, and have
the ability to humiliate him or herself, and all of these great qualities come from God. When you
have the knowledge of what the word of God says, then you will be able to share it with others
through your actions. “For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of
yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in
accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.” (Romans 12:3, NIV).
Overall, God is the creator of all things. God is the subject in our papers, God is the main
character in our story, God is our hero, and God is the reason why we are alive today. Without
God, everything is meaningless, without Him, the world is empty. God created the earth and
Tatoute 4
everything else that is in it. He created human being is His own image. God has been involved in
creation since the beginning, which is found in Genesis 1 and throughout the rest of the Bible.
God created us then He forms great relationships with us, and He also made plans for our lives,
which is found in Jeremiah 29:11. God listens to His creation in speaking to them. One of the
best examples is when He spoke to Moses. Finally, God showed us how to love, by giving His
only son to die for us, so that we may have eternal life. This does not apply to only a believer, it
applies to my devotion as well, in which the greatest responsibility is love. “And now these three
remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” (1 Corinthians 13:13, NIV).
