Biblical Metanarrative Essay
“The Bible begins with the creation of all things and ends with the renewal of all things,
and in between it offers an interpretation of the meaning of all history.” [ CITATION Hug12 \l
1033 ] Many Christians do not fully understand these biblical concepts due to comprehension.
Every story of the Bible as well as our own lives start to make sense as we see the part we play in
the story. Theological doctrines also help to understand the Bible and the Christian faith through
God’s word. Through the many doctrines, enduring truths are revealed essential to the Christian
Faith showing that the Bible is unified as a whole. With this, we will trace two important
foundational Christian doctrines such as faith and glory.
What is a Biblical Metanarrative? A Biblical Metanarrative is the “Big Story” or over-all
story line of the Bible that help us understand as a whole. The Bible is made up of 66 stories, that
are further broken down into 4 acts: Creation, Fall, Redemption, and New Creation. This is also
been known to be called the Four Chapter Gospel. It all starts with Creation where God created
humanity, created all things, and doing so in His image. “In the beginning God created the
