PRAYER AND SANCTIFICATION: KEYS TO A FAITHFUL MARRIAGE 2
Abstract
The main objective of this study was to explore the importance of praying for one's spouse and
sanctifying the covenant of marriage in the context of reducing marital infidelity. Through sanctification
and prayer practices, this study aimed to clarify the possible effects of connecting marriage relationships
with a feeling of holiness and spirituality. In summary, the researchers wanted to investigate how viewing
marriage as a holy relationship and actively praying for God's intervention could be crucial in reducing
cases of infidelity in marriages.
People can give marriage a higher level of devotion and dedication by sanctifying it, by
perceiving it as a holy bond that needs to be cherished and kept. Additionally, one could consider praying
for their spouse to strengthen their relationship and dedication to one another. This study sought to clarify
whether there might be a link between such behaviors and decreased marital infidelity through empirical
investigation and analysis. The research's findings could have a practical impact on those trying to make
their marriages more faithful and long-lasting in addition to improving our understanding of the dynamics
in marital relationships.

Research Purpose and Overview
The current study aimed to discover how sanctifying marriage and praying for one's spouse can
help8reduce infidelity in marriage. Within the Iranian cultural and religious framework, the study
examines how religion and spirituality affect marriage relationships. The study intends to investigate if
viewing marriage as8sanctified is8related to reduced rates of marital infidelity in Iran, although the precise
research questions are not mentioned clearly. Additionally, the article looks to examine if praying is
associated with a decrease in marital infidelity.
Beyond these specific questions, the research explores the broader impact of religious beliefs and
practices on multiple aspects of marital life, such as quality, stability, and contentment. Examples include
sanctifying marriage and praying for the spouse. To inform its examination of the relationship between
religion, spirituality, and marital dynamics in Iran, the research appears to draw on a number of theories
and concepts. For example, Religion and Marital Quality, Islamic Perspective, and Sociological and
Psychological Theories.
Methods and Research
To study the connections between religion, spirituality, and marital dynamics in Tehran, Iran, this
study used a quantitative research approach. To examine the holiness of marriage, prayer for the spouse,
and marital infidelity, the researchers gathered data from married Muslim couples using structured
questionnaires. To test hypotheses, statistical methods such as regression and correlation were used. The
findings collaborated with the hypothesis by showing an adverse correlation between marital infidelity
and prayer for the spouse and the holiness of marriage. The quantitative technique of the study made it
easier to measure variables objectively and do statistical analyses, giving insight into the influence of
spirituality and religion on marital stability and infidelity in the Iranian setting.
Cross-sectional research design is the exact method used in the selected study by Rajesh and
Kalantaris (2018). In this study strategy, information is gathered from a particular participant group at a
single point in time. In this study, information was gathered from 222 individuals who resided in Tehran,
Iran, using questionnaires that were given out at counseling facilities. The participants were all married

Muslims who were chosen using sampling techniques that were accessible. It is helpful to employ a cross-
sectional study strategy to look at the associations between variables at a particular time. In this instance,
the study's goal was to investigate the connections between two aspects of religiosity—and the possibility
of marital infidelity. The researchers were able to investigate and establish the correlations between these
characteristics in their study group by gathering data from individuals at a specific moment in time. Some
of the data collection methods used throughout the study included sample selection, participant criteria,
confidentiality assurance, questionnaire administration/translation, ethical approval, and data validity
assessment.
Findings, Discussion, and Future Research
Multiple statistical methods were used by the study's researchers to examine the data and reach
their conclusions. Regression analysis appears to have been one of the primary techniques utilized to look
at the associations between the variables, based on the information presented. These coefficients were
specifically employed to determine the effect of the research variables—marital sanctification and spouse
prayer—on infidelity in marriage. In conclusion, the researchers examined the role of asking for divine
intervention in marriage and praying in reducing marital infidelity in a Muslim society and related their
findings to existing literature and theories using a combination of quantitative analyses (regression and
correlation) and qualitative interpretations.
The primary research findings of this study supported the proposed hypothesis. According to the
study, there is a real connection between the holiness of marriage, praying for one's spouse, and the
likelihood of infidelity in marriage. In essence, the findings showed that there is a significant reduction in
the chance of marital infidelity when people consider their marriage as a sacred and holy relationship and
actively pray for their spouse.
They suggest that future research on the connection between spirituality and marital infidelity
considers other facets of married life. They advise looking into marital satisfaction's potential function as
a mediating factor in the connection between the holiness of marriage and adultery. The authors also
suggest conducting experimental research to see how well spiritual coping mechanisms work in both

preventing and dealing with infidelity. Additionally, they support research that examines demographic
variations related to sect, gender, ethnicity, and other variables. They stress the need to gather information
from both parties in dyadic relationships and advise using mixed, quantitative, and qualitative research
methods in the future.

Conclusion
As a result, this study took a crucial step in illuminating the profound relationship between
sanctifying the marriage covenant and praying for one's spouse as a strategy for lowering marital
infidelity. The researchers wanted to reveal the transformational power of considering marriage as a
sacred tie and praying for divine intervention by looking into the potential impacts of incorporating
holiness and spirituality into marital interactions. The results of this empirical study may provide useful
guidance for people trying to strengthen their marriages by encouraging a greater level of dedication and
commitment to their spouses. Additionally, this research offers a possible road map to more devoted and
long-lasting marriages by deepening our understanding of the complex processes in marital relationships.
