Biblical Theology Plan
With a strong correlation between faith, belief, and action, an individual’s action will
always follow their belief. At a Christian ministry, there is an attempt to develop faith in other
people through sharing of beliefs. What a person believes in the framework of the content of any
Christian ministry. What follows in this essay is a statement of theological beliefs and how those
affect the sharing of the Gospel message.
The theological terms that apply to the ministry context are biblical theology,
epistemology, hamartiology, soteriology, theology, and the trinity. Biblical Theology is an
attempt to articulate what theology of what the Bible contains what writers have addressed their
settings. Epistemology is an inquiry into what is nature, and methods of gaining knowledge. As
Proverbs 1:7 states, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise
wisdom and instruction.”1 This has been followed by two main alternatives of what rationalism
of what knowledge has been gained of what mind of reason and logic. As with Hamartiology
which is a theological investigation of sin. There are some concerns of the understanding of
where it came from, what the nature of the word, and what is the consequences of what sin is.
Some of what can go with this, is the fall of what Adam and Eve did in the Garden of Eden and
how they ate from the tree which God told them not to, so now generation later there is sin, but
Jesus died on the Cross for us so that he can take the sin away from us, but it will always be in
the back of all Christians mind of the sin of what Adam and Eve did. As Lowe states, “Human
sin infected the connective harmony that permeated the pristine ecology God created.”2 Then
there is Soteriology which is the study of salvation, this shows what a corpus of systematic
theology which is different from what theology is. As Lowe states, “The parables of Jesus help

us see creation as Jesus did, and through his teachings we are able to understand the wholeness
of life and salvation—or, as Howard Snyder puts it, to see the “ecology of salvation.”3 This also
brings the work of God that brings creation so we Christians can enjoy the divine purpose of
existence, and that this deals with the fact of bringing of God’s saving goals. As in Acts 4:12
says, “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to
mankind by which we must be saved.”4With systematic theology, it is a belief system of what a
religious group which is organized of thought to carry out a particular cultural context. There is a
method of theology that some people do not understand and it is our job to show those who do
not understand to understand it, because there are questions out there that some people want to
ask but do not know how to ask them because those who learn those question need to explain
them in a theological way, so that others can understand the purpose of God and what he has
done with creation. There is the term Trinity that some people do not know, this is three people in
one, the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. This is the ultimate basis for the Christian doctrine of
what Trinity is and the self-disclosure of Jesus and who he is to us as Christians. As Mat. 3:16
says, “After being baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens
were opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on Him.”5
With the understanding of what spiritual formation is and how it relates to the whole
person is that to be formed spiritually is to engage in a specific practice or disciple with one clear
goal, which is to be nearer to God in Christ and to focus less and less on oneself. Also, spiritual
formation is a process to sharpen our attentiveness to God and to help us to be more like Jesus in
the power of the Holy Spirit. Then it is important to remember that spiritual formation does not
propel us on a journey but to be on a journey of exploration and discovery along the way of self-

identity. As in Gen. 5:1-2 says, “This is the document containing the family records of Adam. On
the day that God created man, he made him in the likeness of God; 2 he created them male and
female. When they were created, he blessed them and called them mankind.”6 The meaning
behind this is that all the creation is in the image of God, and when Adam and Eve disobeyed
God in the Garden of Eden, it was a sin and then God sends his son Jesus to be incarnate in the
virgin Mary as another image of God to then die on the Cross for our sins so that we can have
eternity in the Kingdom of Heaven.
The application of theology and formation for ministry contexts is that it is a procedure of
an inquiry the is used in the development of a theological position. What some questions that us
Christians want to know what is theology, why is theology important, and what forms the
foundation of the task of engaging in theology. These questions are on all of our minds who do
study theology and why we need the answers to all questions that deal with theology. In the end
Theology is the way to figure out what the Bible is saying and how we Christians can connect to
who God and Jesus are and how we are the very image of God.
