Part I
A worldview is something everyone has but not all realize it’s there. It is the perspective
in which we base all our thoughts and actions on throughout our lives. (Gutierrez & Weider,
2013) In other words, it is our true inner thoughts/views that we may sometimes subconsciously
act on because in our mind we view it as the right way. Our worldviews affect everything we do;
that is why developing your own should be done with great care.

The question of origin for the universe and humanity has a simple answer for those from
the Christian faith. This is answered in Genesis chapter one which states that God created the
whole universe and everything on the earth including humans. (Genesis 1, New International
Version) The biblical worldview also believes that the creation of everything was done in a total
of six days and that on the seventh day God rested to symbolize a day of rest; this is taken from
Genesis 2:1-3. (Genesis 2:1-3, New International Version)
We – sinful humans – are still special to God. This is clear in the biblical worldview
because unlike all the other creations that God made we were created in His image. (Genesis
1:27, New International Version) This was not by mistake either. God deliberately created us like
him because he wanted to give us dominion over the earth. (Genesis 1:26, New International
Version) This shows that we are more important to Him than other living things because he saw
the sinful people that we are and still fit the responsibility to us to care over his other beloved
creations.
The meaning/purpose of life is something everyone has contemplated at some point in
time. The biblical worldview’s simples answer to this question is to bring glory to God. (1
Corinthians 10:31, New International Version) A great way to accomplish this is by obeying Him
and showing His love to others. (Deuteronomy 11:1, New International Version)
The Merriam Webster dictionary defines morals as, “of or relating to principles of right
and wrong in behavior.” (“Merriam Webster”, 2018) This definition however does not explain
what right or wrong behavior is or looks life. From a worldly perspective there is no real right or
wrong, it all subjective to their own “truths”. (Proverbs 21:2, New International Version)
However, the Biblical perspective presents clear cut rights and wrongs because there is a belief
of an absolute truth. The absolute truth is based off Jesus Christ (God in the flesh), and He is the
one who says whether something is moral or immoral. (John 1:17, New International Version)
From a biblical perspective there are only two options for what happens after life. The
first option is where everyone who is without salvation is headed, Hell. (Psalm 9:17, New
International Version) The second option is immediately set into place after being saved, Heaven.
(John 3:16, New International Version) This is everyone’s destiny whether you are prepared or
not. Word Count: 355

When looking at the world around me with a biblical worldview, there clear ways one
should act and that includes the way you treat others. God states in Ephesians 4:32, “Be kind to
on another, tender hearted, forgiving one another as in Christ forgave you.” (Ephesians 4:32,
New International Version) This should really show us to be compassionate to others even when
we don’t feel like it.
The biblical worldview doesn’t just apply with humans but also the environment.
According to Earth Day, “About 8 million metric tons of plastic are thrown into the ocean
annually.” (“Earth Day”, 2018) I think as humans (who were given dominion over the earth) we
should definitely try to take better care of our beautiful planet. The biblical worldview can and
should affect how we treat everything and everyone one on the earth. Word Count: 131
