In this paper, understanding of the unified and coherent nature of the Bible
and its theological doctrines will be demonstrated. Christ and worship will be addressed to
portray the unity represented in the Bible. These theological topics will be discovered through
Creation, Fall, Redemption and New Creation. The Biblical Metanarrative is one story about
many individuals put together to share the testimony of God and His miracles. The book is
divided into the Old Testament (Covenant) and New Testament. The Old Testament lays out the
history of God, His people and the Commandments. It gives us geography, language and culture.
God explains His expectations from His creation and promises to them of a fresh start. The New
Testament speaks on the life and death of Jesus Christ, His purpose and resurrection.
The Biblical Metanarrative includes Creation, Fall, Redemption and New
Creation. In the Bible, Creation includes creation of the universe and also humanity. The
narrative is written by different authors by were overalled influenced by God Himself. The Fall
comes after Adam and Eve disobey in The Garden of Eden, followed by Redemption of man by
Jesus Christ coming to Earth and New Creation which comes by the death and resurrection of
Jesus. Understanding how all these events are related will help one to have proper of God and
their purpose in life. The Old Testament begins with how man was created, what instructions
were given to man to live, how those instructions were disobeyed and how Jesus came to save
humanity from themselves. God’s Word must be understood in order to fully serve Him. 1

Samuel 15:22 reads “Obedience is better than sacrifice” (ESV, 2001). God’s Commandments is a
literal map of how we should live to fulfills His Promises.
Throughout the Bible, Christ has been presented even prior to His coming. In
Creation, the world is full of sin and in need of a Savior. God already knew He would need
someone to lead by example. His prophets even foretell of His death and prophecies that Christ
later fulfills. The Fall of Man describes the first man and woman transitioning from innocence to
guilt and disobedience. Adam and Eve were tempted by the snake (devil) to eat the fruit from
the tree of good and evil in the Garden of Eden. This event brought sin unto the entire world.
The purpose of Jesus coming into the world was to redeem us. New Creation begins after the
resurrection of Christ when is no longer flesh and transcends back to a spirit. This represents
how we operate once we have accepted Christ in our lives. John 4:24 reads “God is spirit and
those who worship Him must worship in Spirit and in truth” (ESV,2001).
Worship is one of the most powerful things about being a Christian. Worship is
not only an action but a tool. It unifies the body of Christ and defeats the devil. It has the power
to change things. Worship is how we invite God’s presence into the atmosphere. God loves
when we worship. It is a place of total vulnerability. We were created to worship God. Once we
stopped worshipping God, it allowed the devil to enter our lives. The devil is always lurking to
kill, steal and destroy but he is no match for the power of God. The more we know the Word,
the more powerful we are against the devil. Demons tremble at the name of Jesus. Mark 1:27
reads “And they were amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, “What is
this? A new teaching with authority! He commands even unclean spirits and they obey him”
(ESV, 2001). God gave us the authority to slay demons in His name.

In conclusion, The Biblical Metanarrative is main purpose of the Bible.
The main characters are God, Jesus and humanity. Throughout the Bible the themes Creation,
Fall, Redemption and New Creation are carried. Christ and worship unifies each of these
themes. We were created to worship God yet we were defeated by sin. Christ came into the
Earth to save our souls and give us a second chance. His resurrection brought us back to God to
worship Him in spirit and in truth.
