Viewing my research as a calling to share the Gospel through using the
knowledge of psychology to afford mental assistance and or support for
those that are skeptics in this area. I can recall God not having a respect
of person when he preached the word. I can recall my father’s tenure of
pastoring, he exemplified Jesus’s example because he did not care if his
congregation had twenty or two hundred. He was going to minister to his
people with all that he had. I feel compelled to relieving this tension by
giving the people the word of God thorough my acts of service to them via
mental health maintenance with spiritual guidance. The only way to
alleviate this tension is to continue to expose the African American
community with an integrative approach so that they can fathom the
cohesiveness of psychology and Christianity. “I bear them witness that
they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. For I bear them
record that they have a zeal of God. For, being ignorant of the
righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own, they did not
submit to God’s righteousness” (New King James Version, 2001, Romans
10:1-3). Today we must take full responsibility of obtaining the knowledge
that is at our disposal. We can never use the excuse of not knowing as
justification to not have exhausted all the opportunities to seeking
psychological advisement. It is much easier to seek this assistance from
God and Psychologist initially, because either you will get the assistance
needed on the front of the issue and on the back end when the issue has
become unbearable. God has gifted these clinicians in this discipline and
just as he left the Holy Spirit as our comforter, Psychologist can serve the
same purpose.
Restoration means evading dramatizing and spreading fallacies. The best
way to restore and preserve humanity is to treat the people we serve with
the dignity and respect we would want to be shown to us if we were
similarly situated. Justification is recognized as the Christian's being made
whole by the Author and Finisher of our Faith manifest His character of
righteousness in our behavior. Consecration is adjoined with justification,
allowing a man to function as intended by the expression of the Holy
nature of God in man. Salvation is the broad term that indicates that we
have been "made safe" from Satan's dysfunctional abuse to function as
God intended, divinity operating within humanity, Christ within the
Christian.
Also inherent in the "finished work" of Jesus Christ is the realization that
the restoration of man has been inexorably set in motion (Wolters, 2005).
The corrective work of Christ on the cross was not the execution of God's
working in Christ. Man can function again in a reconciled relationship of
communion with God that derives from His Being. God responds with
grace which continues in the action of the risen Lord Jesus, by the
dynamic of His life, restoring the spiritual union of God and man.
