As I read Wolters (2005), to better understand how creation, fall, redemption and
new creation affects our lives in so many ways, I see how you attribute these
Scriptures to Psychology overall but specifically in dealing with individuals from a
clinical perspective or overall affect of a person. So much can be said about the
Grand Narrative how creation leads to a happy and healthy person and how
understanding God’s way of thinking allows for us to better understand people.
Individuals will be happy and satisfied and have a positive energy that surmounts
them to manifest good things into their life. Whereas psychology can tell us that a
person affected by the fall will be dark and depressed and incapable of
functioning in everyday life operating by societal norms. They will be defeated and
succumb to violence and resort to beg, borrow and stealing. Psychologist can
process the emotions of people after engaging them using the Grand Narrative so
that they can pray for redemption with individuals that have clinical issues or
abnormalities knowing that people will be cured. Salvation as it reads in the Bible
is a return to a good state or situation, (Wolters, 2005). Once a clinician can see
patterns of despair they can begin to process their sins and grant them
redemption back into a uplifting pathway for success. A psychologist can be
proactive with their work because they have new creation that they can unfold on
individuals so that they can bestow upon them the Scriptures and teachings of
God.
