Introduction
Aggression is defined as behavior that is targeted at harming others in a psychological or
physical manner. Aggression commonly is a product of anger. There are many factors that cause
individuals to display aggression towards others such as agreeableness and empathy. As
individuals grow in understanding of what aggression is and where it stems from, people can
learn how to better deal with the effects of it by being proactive instead of reactive.

Aggression and Social Perception
Aggression has been studied over time and conclusions have presented that males tend to
be more physically aggressive than females, whereas females tend to be more relationally or
psychologically aggressive compared to males (Kassin et al., 2020). There are cultural tendencies
that find that some environments present aggressiveness more than others. For example, some
cultures perceive that men should be aggressive to a certain extent in order to rightfully promote
characteristics of protection and masculinity (Kassin et al., 2020). Additionally to cultural
influences, there are certain stimuli that are presented in an environment that welcomes
