You have provided some interesting research in reference to the impact of
friendships on workplace productivity. Workplace friendship is important and
necessary as it can have a great impact on workplace friendship. Workers are
more likely to stay on their jobs is they have friends at work. It is a fact that
workers are happy when their workload and productivity levels are increased.
When workers develop friendships at work they work better because they feel
their friendships are work related and non-work related. Productivity is increased
because workers are better able to work together with each other. Workplace
friendship helps to promote support for each other, facilitate job effectiveness as
well as career advancement.
A research study that I want to also share is regarding organizational level and
friendship expectation at work. This study sample consist of 30 MBA students.
Questionnaires were distributed to 650 full-time employees from different
occupational backgrounds. There was a 39% response rate to the questionnaires.
As a result, there were no significant difference between the first and the last 30
respondents (Mao et al., 2012). Samples that the study focused on where age,
education, martial status, and organizational tenure. Variables included in the
study were high salary, hours of work, and long organizational tenure, and a
controlled variable (Mao, et al., 2012). The study measures validity and seven-item
Likert scale and five-item Likert scale as well as a 5-point scale, and consistency
reliability for the scale. Multiple regression analysis (regression coefficient,
regression equation was statistically significant and negative) were also used for
this study.
This is indeed great research and more research is needed.
I look forward to us coming together to work on this research in more details.
