Impression management can be controlled and manipulated when a certain set of
behaviors and attitudes are exhibited.
The research that has been conducted centers around the topic of impression
management. It is the practice where individuals try to control or influence the impression
that others have about them. Impression management has been identified as a personality trait
that can be used by individuals for achieving diverse motives. For instance, interview anxiety
is positively related to deceptive impression management. The chief learning about the
research topic is that impression management is something that can be manipulated by
individuals based on their intentions and motives.
Biblical Worldview Integration
In the Holy Book of the Bible, there are a number of passages and verses that are
related to the topic of impression management. Although there is no direct use of the phrase
in the Bible, a number of principles have been identified, such as integrity and honesty,
humility, sincerity, and accountability, that can influence how individuals manage their
impression in front of others and present themselves. Several verses and passages have been
identified as they are interlinked with impression management
Proverbs 10: 9 – Proverbs 10: 9 states that an individual who is able to walk with honesty
and integrity is able to move ahead in a secure manner. On the other hand, an individual who
takes a non-righteous or cooked path is bound to be found out. The verse is of high relevance
in the context of the research topic since it sheds light on the fact that one must always try to
be genuine and authentic while representing oneself. The act of pretense will not work since
God can see the actual selves of individuals that lie below their exterior.
Galatians 1:10 – Galatians 1:10 (NIV) states, 'Am I now trying to win the approval of human
beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I

would not be a servant of Christ' (New International Version, n.d.). The verse has a deep-
rooted connection with the research topic. The ultimate message that has been conveyed is
that human beings should not rely on a false or fake persona to get approval from others. By
trying to please others instead of being genuine, individuals will not be able to be the servant
of Christ.
Philippians 2:3 – In Philippians 2:3 (NIV), it has been stated that a person must never do
anything because of their selfish ambitions. In the research, it has been identified that during
interviews, certain individuals may try to create a favorable impression so that they can
secure the job. However, based on the words that have been identified in the passage, one
must not try to create a false impression in others' minds for malicious or unjust purposes.
Instead of manipulating or controlling one's impression, he or she must try to be genuine and
sincere as an individual.
Hebrews 4:13 – According to Hebrews 4:13, there is nothing that is hidden from the sight of
the Almighty. He is aware of everything and every individual. It is stated in the passage that
'Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are
accountable.' It implies that although people may try to pretend in order to create a favorable
impression, God is able to see people as they are. The pretense of people to seem good might
not work before God since he knows the inside out of every single being that he has created
in the world. The message implies that one must not try to create an impression before the
Almighty; instead, they should present themselves as they are. Even if human beings may try
to create a favorable impression before God, he is able to see through and identify how
people are in reality.
Matthew 23: 27 - 28 – In Matthew 23: 27 - 28 (NIV), a vital message that has been shared is
related to avoiding hypocritical behavior. Jesus Christ is against hypocritical behavior. The
people who have a beautiful exterior but a dark and unclean interior are known as hypocrites.

In the research context, impression management gives the opportunity to individuals to
control and influence how others perceive them. This trait may be used by them to present a
dishonest and inaccurate representation of themselves, which may be far from their actual
persona and identity.
The Biblical verses that have been identified are of high relevance in the context of
the impression management topic. By integrating the principles relating to honesty,
genuineness, sincerity, and authenticity, one can manage their impressions in a truthful
manner without trying to deceive others for their own selfish reasons. The teachings from the
Bible can be applied in the real-life settings to ensure that one remains true to the Almighty
and to oneself while creating an impression on others.
Conclusion
The integration of biblical worldview into the research topic has helped to explore
impression management at a deeper level. The principles that have been captured in diverse
passages and verses in the Bible can be applied by people. By relying on biblical teachings,
individuals can be genuine, honest, and authentic while creating their impression of others.
The adoption of biblical elements has helped to understand that people should not try to
create a false or fake impression of themselves on others because of their selfish reasons.
Instead of trying to deceive or misguide others, individuals need to create an impression that
is aligned with their real persona, identity, and character.
The adoption of a biblical worldview can play a cardinal role in the study of social
psychology since it can throw light on the inherent value of every living being that has been
created by God. The comprehension of the topic of impression management has strengthened
by integrating biblical worldviews. A broad range of principles have been identified that have
been presented in the Bible, including honesty, integrity, sincerity, etc., that can guide
individuals to manage their impression in a fair and truthful manner. By taking into account

the learning from the Bible, an individual can make sure that they do not try to control or
manage their impression in the minds of others with the intention to deceive them. By
adopting the elements from the Bible, it has been possible to explore the social psychology
discipline at a deeper level (Myers & Twenge, 2019). The teachings of the Bible have
informed the study by shedding light on how Christ can serve as a catalyst and influence the
behavior and actions that are exhibited by human beings during their day-to-day lives.
