My Worldview
Everyone has different views on the world, we are all unique in our own way. Possibly this is
because we were all raised different. Some people use social media, some read the newspaper,
and some listen to others’ opinions. This could all change as someone gets older and they gain
their own opinions. I wasn’t raised in a very religious household, but I do believe that there is a
God, and I do believe that the Bible is his story through life. I believe that he made us, and every
other creature and object we have today. The definition of worldview could vary by some, but to
me, I follow the dictionary’s definitions. In the Merriam-Webster dictionary, it says “a
comprehensive conception or apprehension of the world especially from a specific
standpoint”. This is only a definition and others may view it differently.
When I did the BWVI, I found out that I have high levels of alignment with Cosmology and
Eschatology. This makes sense because I often find myself asking “Where does it all come
from”, and “Where are we going?”. I have a low level of alignment with Ontology, Axiology,
Praxeology, and Epistemology. All of this makes sense with the ideas I have in my head.
Compatibility
Evolutionary psychology is compatible with my worldview in some ways. I am very back and
forth on this one. This doesn’t mean it is compatible with every worldview out there. Evolution
means that things are changing over a slow amount of time. I believe that things are changing,
therefore its compatible with me and my thinking. Every day this is something new changing.
We as humans change every day. Biblical worldview and evolutionary psychology could be seen

as opposites though. In Genesis 1:26, (NIV), it says, “Then God said, “Let us make mankind in
our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the
sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,[a] and over all the creatures that move along the
ground.”. This shows that God created mankind himself.
Strengths and Weaknesses
There are many strengths and weaknesses of evolutionary psychology. One big one that sticks
out is that it helps us to better understand why some people act certain ways and why they think
the way they do. It helps us understand why some people have negative feelings towards others.
We can help them if they do. To me, some weaknesses to evolutionary psychology is that it is
always changing, and nothing ever stays the same. Change isn’t always good and sometimes it
can cause bad things to happen.
