ESSAY: CLIMATE CHANGE ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS
OVERVIEW
Many scientists agree that human activity is the primary cause of global warming/climate
change. In general, the Republicans, though it’s difficult to pin down exactly what some
Republicans think about climate change, have a well-established track record of skepticism and
denial. Some have called global warming a “hoax,” some insist it is “not man-made,” and have
suggested that “nobody really knows” if climate change really exists. On the other hand,
Democrats appear to be “all in” on solutions to reverse global warming/climate change,
regardless of its causes and effects.
God is not “just” a powerful figure in the world—He is the creator of the world, all that is seen
and all that is unseen. He brought it into existence with all of its interconnected processes,
animate and inanimate, which means that even the smallest grain of sand is the work of his
design. In the Bible, God commands man to be a steward of the environment and in Isaiah
(Isaiah 24: 4-6) the prophesy about the dire consequences that occur when man disobeys God
and fails to take care of the Earth is written, "The earth dries up and withers, the world
languishes and withers, the exalted of the earth languish. The earth is defiled by its people; they
have disobeyed the laws, violated the statutes and broken the everlasting covenant. Therefore, a
curse consumes the earth; its people must bear their guilt. Therefore, earth's inhabitants are
burned up, and very few are left."
INSTRUCTIONS

and policies on climate change are influenced and justified by God’s words.
Use clear examples and quotes to support your argument (s). Remember, this is not an
opinion piece, this is an objective scholarly policy analysis piece.

CLIMATE CHANGE 2
Introduction
Climate change is one of the critical issues in the whole world. Climate change is the
process that has affected the different countries, continents, and regions. Climate change is the
prominent variation of average weather conditions like the weather becoming drier or the wetter
for several years. Climate change is used for the long-term change in the weather or environment
in the different countries or continents. There is a record of floods and storms or deadly heat in the
world that leads to the change in the climate. Different species and living beings experience climate
change in many ways. People who discriminate against color and the economically poor face
critical weather conditions. Such people have contributed least to the change in weather and
climate change, and they have to face the worst impacts. There are several causes of climate
change, but the current topic of discussion is to know the Democrat's and Republicans' views
regarding climate change. The view of climate change from the biblical or theological perspective
will be discussed. The worse impacts of climate change in the different regions will also be
addressed.
Discussion
Republican View of Climate Change
Climate change has become a critical issue, and it has been a severe issue for the whole
world. There are two parties in America, including Democrats and Republicans. Republicans have
viewed the issue of climate change as a low priority, and they think that it is not a problem to be
worried about. Republicans have a different view on politics compared to Democrats, and similar
is the case of climate change (Ehret, 2018). There are different views of both parties. Republicans
believe that the weather and climate change have been in the universe for centuries, and it has been
CLIMATE CHANGE 3
observed that the people either could not manage it or adapt to it gradually. On the other side,
Republicans have given different possible solutions to climate change. They believe that if climate
change occurs, it can also be minimized. It is observed that different issues are to be discussed, but
they are not in the hands of human beings, so they are ignored and are accepted by Republicans.
They believe that they can support the actions that minimize climate change, but there is nothing
to worry about (Feldman, 2018).
There is a strong reason behind the view of Republicans on climate change. Fewer of them
think there is a link between human activities and climate change. Most of them have the response
that climate change has nothing to do with human activities. Climate change is a natural process,
and God has the power to change everything in the weather and environment. They call it a simple
step to change with the complete series of environmental changes in the universe, and it is an
ongoing process with the start of life (Merkley, 2018).
Democrat's View of Climate Change
The opinion of Democrats is different about climate change, and they are much more
concerned than Republicans. They have concerns that the climate has been changed because of
man-made activities and chlorofluorocarbons. Humans have used vehicles, air conditioners,
refrigerators, and others for centuries (Benegal, 2018). The maximum ratio of Democrats has
shown their concern that climate change should be the president's priority over the other cabinet
members. It has been seen that climate change can deteriorate the whole planet and disturb human
activities (Shearer, 2019). The president should take action against them. There are two types of
governments worldwide, and they have opposite concerns on climate change. This kind of
government is in the category of China. They have planned to save the planet through sustainable
planning and minimize the use of automobiles and other vehicles. The governments have reduced
CLIMATE CHANGE 4
chlorofluorocarbons, and restrictions have been imposed. Democrats are happy with the intention
that countries are concerned about climate change (Hultman, 2019).
On the other hand, there are more serious concerns of Democrats because they view that
climate change has increased in recent years. If human activities continue at the same pace, the
universe is giving the gesture that the governments should be careful. Democrats believe that God
has complete power and He has to do everything with the universe and climate change, but there
is a significant reason in the form of human activities. Climate change can be minimized through
proper planning (Druckman, 2019).
Climate change is a modern issue that is not discussed in the Bible, but there are specific
facts that indicate the teachings of the Bible regarding the matter. “The earth lies defiled under its
inhabitants; for they have transgressed the laws, violated the statutes, broken the everlasting
covenant. Therefore a curse devours the earth, and its inhabitants suffer for their guilt; therefore
the inhabitants of the earth are scorched, and few men are left” (Isaiah 24:5-6). “The fourth angel
poured out his bowl on the sun, and it was allowed to scorch people with fire. The fierce heat
scorched them, and they cursed the name of God who had power over these plagues. They did not
repent and give Him glory” (Revelation 16:8-9). “Therefore, I tell you, do not be anxious about
your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is
not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither
sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more
value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his life span? And
why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither
toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these”
(Matthew 6:25-34).
CLIMATE CHANGE 5
Conclusion
Both Republicans and Democrats both have their concerns about climate change. Some
believe that God is responsible for climate change, and others believe that man-made activities are
the reason behind it. The ultimate concern of both is protecting the planet and minimizing the
impact of climate change.
