the challenge for healthcare is to provide quality healthcare while maintaining costs. It seems
intuitive that when technology is married with healthcare that the best health outcomes are easier
to obtain, once the technology is embraced and understood. The objectives in the Meaningful
Use Program include ensure information is suitable to help make decisions when needed,
improve quality safety and efficiencies, and reduce health disparities, involve patients and
families in their care, improve care coordination, improve population and community health, and
ensure adequate privacy and security protections for personal health information (Nelson &
Staggers, 2018). When technology is advanced, the government programs can define the
parameters which helps achieve these objectives. The motivation then becomes to provide a
stable health environment that benefits the patient which in turn will benefit the provider by a set
and steady reimbursement. This type of incentive is a driving force for the provider and
healthcare system to remain compliant to avoid penalties (Houlihan & Leffler, 2019).
I also appreciated your Christian worldview when you mentioned that our moral obligation is to
care for our neighbors and for the benefit of our communities. As Christian nurses we are an
example of Christ in all that we do, caring for our patients wholly is a perfect way to care as
Christ would.
