a measure of internal consistency, that is, how
closely related a set of items are as a group. It
is considered to be a measure of scale

Examples of validity and reliability
an alarm clock that rings at 7:00 each morning, but is set
for 6:30. It is very reliable (it consistently rings the same
time each day), but is not valid (it is not ringing at the
desired time)
For example, if your scale is off by 5 lbs, it reads your
weight every day with an excess of 5lbs. The scale is
reliable because it consistently reports the same weight
every day, but it is not valid because it adds 5lbs to your
true weight. It is not a valid measure of your weight.

a structured way of improving the processes of care and patient
outcomes: a small, straightforward set of evidence-based
practices — generally three to five — that, when performed
collectively and reliably, have been proven to improve patient
outcomes.

support their arguments. A "negative case" is one in which
respondents' experiences or viewpoints differ from the main body of
evidence. When a negative case can be explained, the general
explanation for the "typical" case is strengthened.
