Future implications
It is difficult to talk about middle grounds for a thing that is fundamental right. About
18% of the US GDP is represented by the healthcare industry. For the most fundamental
reason, as soon as a new born is delivered, the demand for health care increases and so the
industry is poised to grow rapidly. Statistics show that health care costs and expense will be
rise over inflation. With the bureau of labour statistics intention to add over 2.3 million jobs
by 2026, it will not be easy to manage costs and job growth. Leaders need to have a strategic
plan set objectives and goals to where the company would go in the future. A plan to achieve
the set objectives would be necessary for the better future of healthcare industry.
There are several challenges facing the managers and leaders of healthcare industry.
Change of reimbursement models. This translates to healthcare providers will no longer be
rewarded for simply providing services to individuals rather there will be a count on the
quality of clinical outcomes and population health delivered. Secondly, healthcare policies
are in constant flux (Konrad et al., 2021). With the establishment of the Affordable Care Act
(ACA) there have been great impact on the insurance market. This uncertainty have resulted
to reluctance to expand insurance companies. Thirdly, is technology within the healthcare
industry. They are not only expensive to purchase and implement but also, are often demand
highly trained workers and facilities. Meanwhile the healthcare industry is facing shortage for
qualified and high skilled workers. In the future, there will be leadership gaps. The healthcare
leaders will take takes of managing facilities and organizing teams in the high stakes
industries. However from their busy schedules they do not have time to pursue leadership
training.
One way of improving the healthcare organisation is to take the organisation as a
collective microsystems. Microsystem to refer many small unit of administrators, caregivers
and other staffs who assist in the delivery of health care (Bachynsky, 2020). According to

research finding, it has indicated, it is more successful to focus on the small functional units
who deliver services to the daily customers. Example of microsystem units are team of lab
technicians, group of primary care givers or staff at customer care centres. Another way to
improve the healthcare in the US, is to understand and implement the improvement cycle.
PDSA cycle is the fundamental approach that offers the basis of most process improvement
models. PDSA abbreviates Plan, Do, Study and Act. The PDSA cycle has a series of
systematic steps for gaining value and knowledge for continuous improvement of a process.
Underlying the basis of PDSA in microsystems will bring an interdependent and interaction
element that is nonlinear and unpredictable in operation. Therefore this small changes can
table large effects on Healthcare organisation as a whole.
Every country in the world has suffered a blow from coronavirus pandemic, which
has retard the healthcare systems and the economy across the globe. The United States is not
spared as the pandemic has affected the jobs, health and income for many Americans. Despite
efforts to recover from the pandemic, the healthcare system of the US will continue
struggling as it failed to achieve better healthcare outcomes than any other country even
before the pandemic strike. Another comparison of future healthcare systems between the US
and other wealthy countries, is that it will be driven by utilisation and price. And increase to
either if those will result to high healthcare costs. Many health finance analysts contend that
the prices are the key drivers to difference cost between the other countries and the United
States. High spending in health can beneficial when the health outcomes are good. The US
per capita spending on healthcare is nearly twice the average of other wealthy counties.
However reports indicate that United States will perform undesirably in several health
metrics like life expectancy, unmanaged diabetes and infant mortality. Healthcare system with
high costs and poor outcomes, it will sabotages the economy and menace the economic well-
being and long term fiscal (Sage & Westmoreland 2020).

Partnership are more often created to address specific challenges that may either be
short or long term. The key principles that drive a partnership are openness, honesty and trust,
regular communications among partners and agreed shared goals. There are various set
strategies that are adhered to in delivering the set goals (Bender et al., 2021). One of them is,
identifying the bespoke solutions. Different challenges require specific partnerships to get
specific solutions. No single type of partnership that fits all solutions. Second strategy is the
structuring matter less than purpose. Setting healthcare structure right can be a never-ending
quest. Healthcare partner need to have flexibility and adaption to issues and tasks. Another
important synergy is to focus on outcomes. Healthcare partnerships success is determined by
the defined purpose or value added from outset and the focused outcome. Pool budget is also
important aspect where appropriate. With the potential not exploited, pooling of budgets may
be the answer to dealing a particular challenge. This brings on the full responsibility of both
parties on board.
With objectives on board, the plans to execute them should be intensified. Leaders
should structure the system to ensure a smooth flow of events in the microsystems. Example
by changing the reimbursement method of the healthcare system will engage the providers a
gear to offer quality and serve as many as possible. With collective microsystem units in the
healthcare system will bring an overall positive outcome. And hence improve the general
healthcare organisation the United States. Another strategy of improving the healthcare is the
setting of healthcare policy constant flux. There is great uncertainty and companies that offer
insurance have become reluctant. This has impacted the health industry and owners of those
establishments. Settling the PDSA and executing every mandate to the letter would also rank
the US healthcare system in the top rank. United states use twice the capita income on
healthcare system as compared to the countries with similar economy. And this goes by not
mentioning, if no action is taken the future of the US economy will be threatened by the

current healthcare system. Every time crisis rise, collaborative sense run through minds.
Partnerships are formed in the occasion of a specific challenge. Partnership is encouraged as
it offloads a fraction of the finances that would be incurred by one of the partners on board.
With the set objectives among the partners, it clearly outlines who is responsible for what
may happen and what may not. This mounts more commitment to the parties on board. It also
enhances regular communication between members with openness, trust and honesty.
