Great job on your discussion board post! It was very informative and thorough. I agree with you
when you stated in regard to an Anti-Federalist that “One of their main concerns was the Federal
government being too powerful to the point that it would overstep the rights of the people and
rights of the States”. I also agree with you that “The Anti-Federalist were more consistent with
American political thought”. Further, the viewpoint of an Anti-Federalist support one’s liberty,
but it would not succeed at created order and justice. Additionally, Anti-Federalists "were strong
advocates of States' Rights who believed that self-government, independence, and individual
liberty were best protected at the local level" (McClellan, 1989). I enjoyed your current event
example for both the Anti-Federalist and Federalist. I do agree with you that gun control has a
strong Anti-Federalist backing and the minimum wage issue has a strong Federalist backing. Our
country was founded on having a united front, in which is not a shared thought between an Anti-
Federalist, whose focus is more on a limited government, and a Federalist whose focus is on
unity. In a perfect world they would work together for united just as God’s Word states, “Behold,
how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity” (New King James Bible,
1769/1982, Psalm 133:1)! Again, great job and God bless!

that the Federalist “believed the national government was better equipped to handle these matters
than the states and argued for a strong, central government”. The Federalist did not feel there was
significance in the makeup of the Bill of Right whereas the Anti-Federalist "were strong
advocates of States' Rights who believed that self-government, independence, and individual
liberty were best protected at the local level" (McClellan, 1989). I additionally agree with you
that “The Federalists declined quickly under John Adams’s administration, as they suppressed
the right of free speech under the Alien and Sedition Acts of 1798”. Further, the Federalist’s
intention was to create a strong government. I enjoyed your current event example for both the
Anti-Federalist and Federalist. I do agree with you that gun control has a strong Anti-Federalist
